- I would love to incorporate Franzs ideas from the
teachers workshop as well as ideas presented in series. I truly enjoyed the presentation
and insights and would value further seminars. It
is a shame more administrators do not attend.
I am certain that Franz Spohn would make a favorable impression on many indifferent
administrators that still give lower status to fine arts in the curriculum.

- The series is creative, very informative and it places art in the real world, not just as an end product in the art room! Spohn does a
wonderful job and the clever approaches would hold the interest of even my 11-14 year old
students.
|
- Very exciting, informative and dynamic. Unusual projects!
|
- The relief project on the playground is great. The videos
in this series will give the teacher a jump start on ideas and the kids additional
enrichment.
|
- The new art ideas in this series, and ways of presenting
them are worth their weight in gold.
|
- A good approach. Interesting, looks like fun for all
involved!
|
- The series does all of the resource work-- I keep the
benefits, and can zone in on an area of the program I want to emphasize.
|
- I have very limited opportunities to bring information
about the outside world of art to my poor, rural students. My planning time is inadequate
for me to teach 9 grade levels with more than 700 students. This series can fill in the gaps in our experiences and is very charming!
|
- I want to use this series to freshen up my current
lessons.
|
- This series is a high motivation tool.
|
- This series shows my students alternative methods and
actual artists and students at work. It is informative and entertaining. I think the
children will be interested - - each episode
is brief so it will leave time to work, and
I think my classroom teachers would even be willing to show the episodes prior to art
class.
|
- I enjoyed the presentations and ideas and have already
begun to incorporate them into my lesson plans. The kids are excited!
|
- I use this series to give my students other mediums for
expression besides reading, writing and speaking.
|
- The series is energetic, and enthusiastic about art and
creating.
|
- It is great for students to see other artists at
work and other students cooperating and
participating. So, I will vary my teaching techniques to allow for Franzs
demonstrations and then perhaps build on his ideas for the remainder of the class and
beyond. I found the episodes to have humor as well as the added bonus of taking the
students into someones studio and creative thought processes.
|
- I was very impressed. I gave up on other art series because they were too elementary for my students. They laughed. Spohn is the kind of artist that
can hold their attention.
|
- The series is wonderfully done. I can use it with difficult age and ability groups including ID, DH and MH. The episodes fit nicely with my teaching
style.
|
- I plan to use the series because I only see my middle
grade students once a week, so the 15-min. programs will allow me to provide a fun
introduction yet have plenty of class time for hands
on exploration. The episodes sound fun and
interesting!
|
- I prepared a lesson using the Whatizit? episode for the
worst 25 kids in our 8th grade because they weren't allowed to go to Washington DC for a
school field trip. I followed the lesson, used all the activity sheets, held the
discussion, introduced the terms and they continued to work for 3 days! They invited me up
to see the image that they had created and it
was clear that they really enjoyed the lesson!
|
- The length of time was good. I was most impressed with
all the introductory and background information that shows how art fits into our world.
That's what I like to see.
