Expert Profile Dr. Daniel J. Flannery is professor of justice studies and director of the Institute for the Study and Prevention of Violence at Kent State University. Prior to coming to Kent State to found the Institute, he was associate professor of child psychiatry at University Hospitals in Cleveland. Flannery has extensive experience in evaluating school-based violence prevention programs in Ohio and elsewhere. His research has appeared in Developmental Psychology, New England Journal of Medicine and numerous other journals. He received a Ph.D. in clinical child psychology from Ohio State University.
